Personnel Training Plan

Ross employees are the most important component in Ross’ prevention and response programs. They design, operate, and maintain the Ross facility. That is why employee training is a critical part of the Ross health and safety program.

Every Ross Incineration employee must complete a 40-hour classroom training session within the first six months of employment. As part of the initial training, each employee receives training materials, which provide an overview of Ross safety and health programs, operating procedures and equipment.  New hires are considered short service employees from the date they begin work at the Ross companies to the date they complete 40 Hour Training which includes both RCRA and OSHA training).

Upon beginning work a New Hire is assigned to a Supervisor who may also act as his/her Mentor, or may assign a Mentor to the New Hire.  The New Hire is required to work under the direction of the Supervisor or Mentor until this initial training is complete.  During the initial employment period, new hire employees are monitored for compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures, as well as operational procedures.  Employees must also demonstrate their proficiency through on-the-job training before they can work independently in the facility. In addition, all employees must complete at least 8 hours of annual refresher training as part of the Ross safety program.
